Mark Yuen's (mrmark) Infiniti M45
 |
Back in 2002, I saw an article in VIP Style Cars, a very
popular Japanese VIP car magazine only available in Japan,
and I saw a picture of a Nissan Y34 Cedric/Gloria with a
prototype Junction Produce kit on it. It was low, it was
black, and it was just stunning. From that point forward, I
was determined to build one here in the US. The problem
was, the Cedric/Gloria was never available to US consumers,
just in Japan . But in 2003, Infiniti decided to bring this
car into the US and brand it the M45. Instead of the
turbocharged 6 cylinder that came in the J-Spec Y34
Cedric/Gloria, Infiniti squeezed a 4.5 8 cylinder under the
hood and viola, instant muscle car.

Problem was, the stock
body was a face only a mother could love.
That’s where Junction Produce comes in. The kit for the
J-Spec Cedric/Gloria from Junction Produce extended the
front bumper closer to the ground, it lowered the side
profile and covered up the ugly black side skirts, it added
signature door panels to widen up the body, but most
importantly, it lowered the rear bumper and smoothed out
that lower indentation that many found downright ugly. Now
the car has a smoother flow, but still maintains the
muscular, squared off look. Now I’m hooked…..now I can
buy one.
After many emails, and many AIM conversations with the
Junction Produce home office in Osaka, I finally persuaded
the overseas sales manager to allow me to build a demo car
here in the US. Over the years, I’ve become friends with
many of the staff over at Junction Produce, even having them
over to my humble home when visiting the east coast. The
mystique, the intrigue, the grand presentation, are all part
of the Junction Produce name….and they live up to the
image while remaining to be the most down to earth people in
the industry!
