1999 Nissan-UK 200SX – Owned by: Alex Quail (Quail)
I have had the car since February 2006 when I sold my old civic. I’ve been working to a tight budget as I’m currently a full time student, but thanks to a friend’s body shop, some ebay bargains, and help from my dad, its come a long way in a short time.
First I sorted out the ride height; I bought some Apex -35mm springs and got a friend to fit them for me. (Eventually I need to upgrade these to coilovers, but they are a nice temporary solution). Surfing ebay I found my childhood dream wheels (Advan SA3Rs) being sold for cheap, so I got in the car and drove up North to buy them! I brought them home, sanded them down, painted them gloss black, and mounted them. Then my friend offered me a chance to be a demo car for his company, as he wanted to reach out into the 200SX market. He gave me a heavily subsidized price that I unfortunately couldn’t afford, but thankfully my dad realized how great the offer was, and thought it would be positive exposure for my car, so treated me to the Knight Racer body kit. I can’t thank him enough, especially since it put him in my mum’s bad books for a while!!
Since then its been doing the rounds at various shows over here in the UK promoting the company, and I’ve been slowly saving up and buying more bits for the car, and it is now at the current spec above.
