Background: My name is Jason Smith and I am born and raised on Southern California. I have always been into cars but this being my first Maxima, I really found the land of modding and personalizing (beyond just wheels and a sound system) My dad was always into racing, and right around the time when I was born had a mean 68 GTO, he (and my mom) used to drag it at OCIR (google it).
My first car was a 84 Toyota p/u which of course I lowered and put in a system. My next car was a 90 Honda Civic SI that I got just after high school. I had big ‘ol 15″ rims, lowered and again a system. But honestly I was one of around 4 other lowered/fixed up Hondas in the entire area it was fun. Well from there I matured a bit (ok maybe not) and got a 90 Ford bronco, here’s where I start lifting cars! Here I went Rancho lift with 35′s, full Borla exhaust/header set up, that truck could take a beating!!! Then in 97 I bought my first new car (along with a Malibu boat), a Chevy Silverado extra cab Z-71. Same story – lift, wheels and system. From there I went even a bit bigger and got a F-350 Crew Cab diesel (when Diesel was way cheaper than reg gas, the good ‘ol days) From there I got sick of the big truck scene and set my sights on the 6th gen, I had always had an eye for the 5.5 gen but 6th gen really got my attention. I was going to go G35 but I wanted some more room with imminent family coming…
And if it wasn’t for these forums, I’d probably still be just doing wheels and a system, but I have gone way beyond this time, and now probably forever! I am definitely more into tinkering type mods, lights, a bit of stereo. Not a big pro mechanic by any means but I can change the oil and rotate tires if need be!
Personally, I have been married since 2005 and have 3 kids (wasted no time) A 4 year old (12-05) and a set of boy-girl twins that are 2.5 (10-07) I live in Huntington Beach, Ca in a house with a nice safe garage for the Maxima! Love skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, music, shoes, and most of all my family!!!
