A lifelong car nut, Andy was raised loving classic American Iron. His father owned both a big-block Shelby Mustang and a big-block Yenko Camaro. A few years down the road, he then owned a brand new 1979 Datsun 280ZX. It was then that Andy gained his appreciation for Nissans. All the girls in kindergarten wanted to ride in the Z!

In high school, after having learned to drive a standard in a brand new ‘89 240SX, Andy wound up driving his father's 1987 Buick Turbo T, which is mechanically identical to the notoriously wicked Buick Grand National. This led to Andy buying his own 1986 Buick T-Type after graduating from Ball State University in 1996. After driving it a few years and having several company cars while working for GMAC, he decided to modify the Buick. With the assistance of Jack Cotton (Cotton's Performance) and the fine people at Precision Turbo and Engine in Hebron, Indiana the Buick was laying waste to many a high-end sports car on the streets of Indianapolis.

After modding and enjoying the Buick, Andy got the bug for autocross and lapping days. So he traded the Buick for a 1972 Camaro RS that sported a 406 SBC, headers, Flowmaster exhaust, Turbo 400, etc. etc. That car sold quickly and a 1992 240SX coupe was purchased the following weekend. It was supposed to get swapped and Silvia bodywork done, but it wound up being a daily driver and weekend warrior.

A couple of 240's later, Andy now owns a 1989 240 hatch that is clean and in the process of transformation to a powerful, well-balanced sports car. Plans call for a blacktop SR20DET, mostly stock to start, but with plenty of power mods once the car is together and running in top form. The 240 is currently being prepped to handle the additional power and to run autocross and lapping this summer with the near-stock KA. If all goes well, the swap should happen while the car is being stored for winter this year.

“repo man” is Andy's NICO screen name because he worked in the repossession industry for two years following five at GMAC. Having grown weary of the hours and danger in that area, he was fortunate to go to work for Lockhart Cadillac-Hummer as their Finance Manager, where he has been for nearly two years.
