240SX and Silvia Forum Moderator
Blake's been addicted to all things Nissan since his first car; an '89 240SX Fastback. It was automatic and
in terrible mechaincal condition due to the two previous female owners and when it finally blew its headgasket
a year and ahalf later, Blake knew there was only one thing to do. After picking up another '89 fastback that
was pre-riced out but reliable as a daily driver, an R32 GTS-T Type-M front clip was ordered and arrived via
semi a short while after. Prior to the swap, the most mechicanically demanding work Blake had done was an
alternator replacement and quickly realized he was in way over his head. There were no guides for the swap at
this time and no one he talked to locally had even heard of an RB20 as it was only 2001 and the huge 240
bandwagon had yet to arrive in Virginia.
After a 6 months of blindly fumbling around and making a couple new friends that had either had done the swap,
or were in the process of, he got the car running...albeit poorly. (Damn cheap hose clamps!) Since then he has
been on a never-ending quest for as much Nissan/240/Skyline information as any human can hope to know. After
moving to Hawaii a year later, he got a job at a local car shop and was the head performance tech and gained
invaluable experience and knowledge over his tenure. Blake also knew he never wanted to work in an automotive
shop again.
Blake is currently in the process of building another RB20 S13 and in the meantime daily drives a 2002 Maxima
SE 6spd and loves double bacon cheeseburgers.
