>> Dan
(DanO)
NICOclub Administrator
Dan was born and raised in Kansas City, KS. From day 1 he was a car
fanatic, playing with every toy automobile he could get his hands on,
making noises as he played. Growing up brought the world of HOT WHEELS
into his life, wearing through the couch cushions he used as roads.
As he grew he became more and more fascinated with the real thing, and
come the teenage years it was time for his first, real automobile. When
it comes to this topic, it's not to be taken lightly, and after having
a few years to decide on what car he wanted, he chose an S14 240sx.
Dan waited 8 months to find one clean enough to satisfy him, and it
seems to have paid off. From there, his fascination and involvement
with the tuner scene exploded.
He became involved in NICO, the area scene, and started to bring back the Nissan/Infiniti scene to the KC area.
The time came for him to go to college. Dan chose to attend Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Phoenix, AZ.
Dan graduated in August ’05 the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA, 5 SOP (Student of the Phase), director’s honors,
and perfect attendance awards. After moving down to Phoenix, he became heavily involved with AZ240sx.org and has
since become their meet coordinator/organizer. After he graduated, Dan moved back to Kansas City where he didn’t
waste any time trying to create and form a Nissan/Infiniti scene in that region with many meets and heavy
recruiting. His efforts have started paying off after he surpassed the number of attendees in March ’06 with
the largest Nissan/Infiniti meet in KC ever.
His S14 is tastefully modded with 30mm aluminum Z32 brakes, stainless lines, Brembo zinc coated/slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads all around as well as speed bleeders, Motul 5.1 fluid, Sprint springs matched with AGX adjustables, Cusco RUCAs, SPL v2 tension rods with brake deflectors, SPL aluminum subframe collars, Moog outer tie rod ends, Cusco OS front strut bar, Megan Racing C-pillar bar, Project Nissan engine torque damper, Rigidracing radiator cooling panel, VLSD, 17x8 FN01R-C with 245/45 ES 100s all around, AEM intake w/custom heatshield, Apex’I N1 dual exhaust, Seibon carbon fiber hood, OE SE fogs, front lip, Kouki sideskirts, JDM rain guards, and the interior has an array of driver enhancements. He performed a 5spd swap using a ’95 68k tranny, RPS MAX series clutch, Fidanza aluminum flywheel, B&M short throw shifter, SPL stainless clutch line and speed bleeder, new OEM slave and master cylinders, pilot bushing and throwout bearing, Nismo reinforced clutch pedal bracket and tranny mount, and custom shif t/e-brake boots from RedlineGoods.com. Almost all parts on Dan’s car were purchased from either a NICO paying advertiser or a NICO member! Dan also has an ’87 BMW 325i Cabriolet project that he’s refurbishing and fixing up, as well as building the new motor for the S14 (RB25) which is currently in progress, so he’s got a lot on his plate to do in his free time! He plans to sell the BMW to help pay for a 4x4 Frontier that will be built up and used as a storm chasing/ spotting vehicle!
Dan loves to work on cars, hang out with friends and family, as well as work on NICO. He's going back to school to do something non-automotive related, and though undecided, may pursue his original love of meteorology!
