I pretty much lived in Hawaii for most of my life, with the exception of 2 years as an infant, and 2
years spent in LA back in '00ish. I got homesick and moved back to Hawaii, but now I'm wondering if
that was a mistake. I do miss California.
I'm currently with the Honolulu Fire Dept, Honolulu's Finest. Who cares if the Police Dept uses that
motto, because we are Honolulu's Finest. Pride, Service, Dedication. I've been with my company
for almost 5 years now and I love my job more than anyone could imagine. I left the Sheriff's Dept and
couldn't have made a better move. At times though, I feel that law enforcement was my calling. I
enjoy interacting with people and just being out in the open, meeting folks from all walks of life,
good and bad.
I fought MMA professionally (4-1) until last year when I had a non-fighting related (basketball) knee
injury which required surgery. Had my operation on Dec. 17th of last year, and now I believe I'm just
about 100%. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, but over the past year I've become lazy
and the drive isn't strong as it once was. I just wish I was a young, hungry buck again; I'm getting
upthere in age (31) and on some days, my body doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me. I'm debating
on going into surgery again, this time to remove built up scar tissue in my rotator cuff. It really
affects my shoulder and arm swings, and I believe it is a hinderance in my fighting ability.
My current Altima ('07 3.5SE) is my 4th Nissan. My love for Nissan's all started out in high school
when I ended up with a '90 240SX. From there, my interest in cars grew; from backyard mod jobs, to
stereo systems, to weekend visits to the race tracks. I then bought a brand-new '94 SE-R and since
then, there was no turning back. I also currently own a '01 SuperCharged Frontier, which is my weekend
truck.
I'm happy to be a part of the NICO family of moderators. I felt honored when I was asked to come
aboard and I hope I don't disappoint anyone.
