Rob Moody’s (Rob.Vegan) Nissan Altima Coupe

The summer of 2007 I was sitting in a friend’s living room watching television and I saw a Nissan commercial advertising for the new Altima Coupe that was beingreleased. I fell in love instantly..

Later that year my parents wanted to purchase a car for me, I was looking around for some older cars including Evolutions, WRXs, and GTIs. My father didn’t want thehassle of dealing with a used car and to find a new, decently priced, car. Iimmediately saidNissan Altima Coupe. After some running around some different dealerships no car really felt that great. The onlyother car I was considering was theVolkswagen GTI, but my mom didn’t want me to have a manual transmission so I was set onthe Altima Coupe. We go to a Nissan dealership and I hop in the 2008 Altima Coupe3.5SE It had great acceleration and handled wonderfully. We wound up picking up a 2.5S in fear I would have too many speeding tickets with the v6.

After a few months of ownership I ran across NICO while I was searching for some info on my brakes. I see that Stillen is coming out with a bumper and I started saving. I went to a meet at Super Autobacs and met a few members there. Aftera bit of saving I was able to purchase the Stillen Fascia with help from myfather. I had it about 1 month before having it painted while my car was being fixed after a little run in with a pillar. I didn’t have much money to bedumping into upgrades but Iconstantlywanted a change to my car. I tinted the taillights and headlights myself. They came out a bit darker than I wanted but that lead me to wanting to black out my car. I painted the OEM rims blackand had my windows tinted. I got a few deals thanks to fellow NICO members on some engine bay upgrades and it was looking good.

I ran into some money and drove to Stillen to buy an intake. A bit more saving and I was able to purchase a carbon fiber hood thanks to Extreme Dimensions car show that came across at the perfect time for my financial state. I’m planning a lotmore for my car and within the next year I should have about another 3k put intoit on upgrades. This car will see many more shows and hopefully it will meet the standard I have for the final product.
