240sx Distributor Timing

The purpose of this article is to show how to get your 240sx distributor in the correct timing position.  Take your time and you’ll get it right!

Locate your front main pulley

Understand the markings on the pulley, if you can’t see them, turn with a socket wrench clockwise (pretty tough)

Make sure that you have the spark plug wires on the correct cylinders

Check that the rotor on the distributor is in the #1 cylinder position at TDC; don’t be alarmed if it is in the #4 cylinder position because it can be in both, just spin the pulley another 360 degrees to get it to normal position (Also see next pic)
