Why Buy Chauffeur Insurance?

Chauffeur companies are still very common in the UK, and the market for drivers is actually flourishing. More and more people are becoming interested in having a little touch of luxury in their lives, and whether you’re a full-time chauffeur who works with one client, or whether you drive for a series of different customers, it can be an extremely rewarding and enjoyable way to make a living especially if you are driving around in a Mercedes.

Of course, being a chauffeur is not without risk. The UK’s roads are challenging places to be, and if you’re on the road for many hours a day you increase your exposure to risk and therefore the damage to your Mercedes. One way of counteracting this is to invest in chauffeur insurance: but what will this protect you against?

Isn’t it just car insurance?

Chauffeur insurance will cover your Mercedes, just like a normal car insurance policy, but because of the professional nature of your driving, it also covers a lot more. At DNA Insurance they know that it’s vital to get you back on the road as soon as possible in the event of an incident, so chauffeur insurance will provide you with a replacement vehicle right away if you’re involved in an accident that wasn’t your fault.

Importantly, chauffeur insurance also gives you some public liability insurance. If you’re dropping off and picking up clients from busy and often difficult events, it’s quite possible that you could cause damage to a member of the public. Chauffeur insurance recognizes these risks and insures you against them.

Can I cover more than one car?

Chauffeur insurance policies are designed to insure one car, or a fleet of cars. Whether you’re self-employed and just keep the one Mercedes, or you have a business which uses a lot of different cars, such as a wedding hire business there will be cover for you.

Time is of the Essence

Chauffeur businesses run off very strict schedules, and having a mechanical problem or an accident a day or two before an important event just isn’t an option. Which means that you need a level of coverage that will help you carry on with the day to day running of your business. This can be done through arranging replacement vehicles and with excess buyback options available you should be able to get back on the road for your next appointment.

Chauffeur insurance is essential if you’re running a small business or you’re self employed. Protect yourself against the risks, get covered and enjoy your driving with peace of mind.
