Meet the 2014 Infiniti QX50

The Infiniti EX returns this year rebadged as the new 2014 Infiniti QX50 SUV. Loaded with the same amenities and features, same styling and high level of performance, the new QX50 is just as fun as the Infiniti EX and then some. Thanks to its distinctive styling, it also sets itself apart from competitors like the BMW X1, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLK. Last year’s model managed to take the top spot in U.S. News and World Report’s Luxury Compact SUV category, and Infiniti QX50 reviews praised it for its excellent power, acceleration and interior build quality. For small families or married couples, the Infiniti QX50 represents the peak of the luxury compact crossover world.

The 2014 Infiniti QX50 is available in four different trim levels: QX50, QX50 AWD, QX50 Journey and QX50 Journey AWD. A single engine option is available on this year’s model: a 3.7-liter V6 that’s good for 325 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. Infiniti QX50 reviews note that the powertrain setup provides outstanding speed for an SUV and a firm ride that fans of sportier suspension tuning will appreciate. Having spent some time on a local road course with a 2010 Infiniti EX, I can attest to the QX50’s sporting feel – very derivative of the G37S Coupe. Shoppers can also choose between front- or all-wheel drive based on trim level.

If luxury trappings are your thing (and they are if you’re considering an Infiniti) the QX50 offers quite a bit for the price. Standard and optional amenities and features include: leather seats, heated seats, a 360-degree camera parking system, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, full power accessories, a touchscreen navigation system, a sunroof, a premium 11-speaker Bose audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry/push-button start and much more.
