I was born in Northwestern Wisconsin in 1977, but really didn’t grow up there. When I was 4, my family moved to Phoenix, AZ, then a couple years later to Denver, CO, which is where I spent the best years of my childhood. We lived in Denver for 7 years and I still have a very strong love for area and especially the Rockies. We moved back to Wisconsin (Eau Claire) for my High School years, then I moved to Green Bay for college. I met my wife my senior year and we got married after graduation. After 5 years of marriage, we finally decided to start a family. My oldest boy Joshua was born in Jan. 06 and my second son Isaac was born in Nov. 08. Having a family the by far the greatest blessing in my life. I will never call it easy, but having kids is the greatest!

After graduating college, I spent 4 years in various sales roles, the last of which was car sales. I loved car sales and learned a lot from it. I feel I’ve been able to share a great deal of that knowledge and experience with my NICO friends. The downfall of the car sales business is the evening and weekend hours, so I left for “greener pastures” of the mortgage business. Oops! After surviving for nearly 6 years as a home loan consultant, it was time for a change. My wife was offered a job in Ohio that comes with free tuition benefits, so I plan to start grad school in Jan ’10.

I’m not sure how I became a car nut. I certainly wasn’t born into it as my dad has zero mechanical skills. But, something inside me can’t help but love the speed, beauty, fun, and individuality that our vehicles offer us. Like all little kids, I was into cars and trucks, but I never grew out of it. In high school got into the tuner scene a little bit, but it wasn’t until I got out of college that I had any money to turn my love into a true hobby.

My first Nissan was a 96 240sx that I drove to GA (from WI) to pickup. It was a great car! I fell in love with rear wheel drive and really got into the tuner scene. I got the itch to go turbo really bad, but didn’t have the money to do it properly, so I sold the S14 for a S13 convertible and a RB20det front clip. Though I was already a NICO member before the convertible came along it was that change that got me heavily involved in internet forum life. I volunteered to head up the newly formed 240sx convertible forum on NICO and have been completely hooked ever since. After a couple years working with the ‘vert and RB forums, I was promoted to “super moderator” so that I could help out across the whole of NICO. Though my move to Ohio forced me to sell my convertible, I was able to find an I35 as a daily driver to at least keep me in the “family”. I’m hoping to get done with my MBA relatively soon and I have plans for a 350z as soon as possible.

Thanks for joining NICO and sharing your car passion with us! If you ever need any assistance, please feel free to contact me (eikond (at) gmail.com) and I’ll do my best to help out.
