Every once in a while, you run across one of those products and think, “I need that. Like, yesterday.”
Last year at SEMA, I ran across Tim from TG Products, demonstrating a new tool called The Solder Tool. Simply put, it’s a stainless steel mechanism that serves as a third and fourth hand while soldering wires. The bracket includes two components to secure solder from either a spool or tube, and the dual alligator clips keep your wires perfectly aligned so you can focus on a perfect solder joint.
I’m putting the finishing touches on a bracket to attach my Solder Tool to my work bench with a neodymium magnet, so I can move it around – as an added benefit, I can put it on the fender of a car, on a firewall, or wherever I’m working on wiring!
You guys know I’m a huge fan of entrepreneurs who find a way to “build a better mousetrap,” and I’ve gotta give Tim kudos on this one – I don’t hate soldering anymore!
You can (and should) buy The Solder Tool here – in fact, get two and give one as a gift!
