NICO at SCO Nights!

NICO sponsor 'Sport Compact Only' kicked off the first week of summer in Phoenix, AZ with the hottest event of the season by far... The SCO Drift, Drag, and Show presented by Muscle Machines at Firebird International Raceway.

They brought together the three most popular tuner events PLUS much, much more! This was definitely a successful event, and once again, SCO did not disappoint.

NICO was there to represent Nissan enthusiasts and to have a great time - Enjoy the pictures, courtesy of Mike (fRiScO) of FriscoMix Productions.

Another great experience for me thanks to NICO. May 21-22 was the SEMA Auto Salon show in the Atlantic City Convention center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Being quite local I was offered by Greg to represent NICOclub.com at this show. Of course, I said yes which was the least I could do since my car never would have been what it is without this forum.

It was a new experience for me to be in a higher class car show. It works a little different than the local high school and car club show in a random parking lot. This weekend started off early Friday morning moving my car in for the show and setting up. It was exciting as I had just gotten the car back from getting painted just two days before, but it was raining this morning.

After wiping down the car and shining it up nicely I got to walk around just cars as only owners were allowed in at this point. I ran into a few members that I have met before and we proceeded to see how the show was going to be.

It started off strong with quite a few 350z’s and G35’s all nicely done and most with forced induction, wow Nissan did a great job on these cars. As we continued we came across R33 and R34 Skylines.

R33 Skyline

One a track R34 Skyline of some kind of road racing that had a quick fill gas tank setup in the trunk and the nozzles built into the rear, very cool. Then a few s14’s with s15 front end conversions definitely rocked. Finally, on the opposite side of the building was an amazingly clean REAL s15. The lines were just too smooth.

I headed home that day car-less, but did not take my mountain bike home like from the body shop when I dropped it off for paint I planned to return early the next morning for the opening to the public.

Waking up the next day for me ended up not being fun. I came down with quite a head cold and could not make it back for the first day of the show. I unfortunately missed out on meeting some awesome people from NICO I would have loved to talk to. Still got a friendly phone call from Fred (PalmerWMD), just to give props and to see where I was. The last day, Sunday, I made it back and got to talk to quite a few awesome people. It was fun to hang out with a few friends and see people interested in the car and take the NICO cards. A great comment from two random guys that I will always remember is, “It’s nice to see a car that still gets driven everyday.”

This became apparent once the show was closed and was time for moving out. I quickly noticed many cars putting masking tape on their front bumpers to keep reality away from their flawless paint. I guess for some that is enjoyable, but if I have an awesome car I am going to drive it how it is suppose to be driven, hard and every chance possible. I want to thank NICO once again. So much of my knowledge has come from the members. I now get to share my experiences with others that are now where I used to be.

Thank you,
Anthony (Structure240sx)
