1965 Nissan Silvia – Owned by : speedoctor
October’s ride of the month belongs to speedoctor. Speedoctor, or Dr. Rex Birkmire, is NICO’s founder. As many of you know he is an avid Nissan enthusiast with a large collection of Nissans. Some of his vehicles include a heavily modified R33 Skyline GTR, as well as a turbocharged M30!
This month we have chosen Dr. Birkmire’s latest addition to his collection as our ride of the month. It’s a 1965 Nissan Silvia. This beautiful car is 100% original. Only 544 of these cars were produced in 1965. This particular example has less than 35k kilometers on the clock! Still coated in the original paint, this car is nothing less than immaculate.
Dr. Birkmire purchased this car this year from a collector in Okinawa, Japan. Since it’s arrival in the U.S., the car has been to the 2005 NOPI Nationals, and has even taken home the 1st place trophy for Asian – Classic – Street.
No future plans for this vehicle to be modified. This is the most pristine example of this vehicle in existence, and it would be a crime to change it.
We look forward to seeing Dr. Birkmire’s next addition to his collection. At the rate he’s going, his garage is perhaps a better site than the Nissan Museum in Gardena, CA!
