1992 240sx Convertible: NICOclub Ride of the Month | jdms13rhd

December 10, 2009 by Greg

JDM 240sx Convertible – Owned by : Allen (jdms13rhd)

I got the car from WorldCarLink Japan. I work for the company now, go figure. The car was already in Canada when I bought it and I was in the market for something faster than a Honda. I got it Sept 2003 when it was theonly JDM car in Alberta pretty much. Just before the big boom hit anyways. I bought it pretty stock other than the fact World Car Link dropped in a SR20and converted it to a 5 speed. What makes it look good is the paint. Ipainted the car myself in High school with friends that helped me out. Then a year later I painted the engine bay in my garage and stitch welded some ofthe important spots the verts should have had factory. I welded every holeunder the bonnet and made custom brackets for everything to make it look a little different. Up here in Canada there is hundreds of Silvia’s but youwill never see a JDM vert. Everything done to this car is done by myself.I’ve been ripped off when I was young and it taught me one lesson. “If you want it done the correct way just do it yourself”.

I got into cars when I was 14. I built a 50CC Honda bike to drive to jr highand when I turned 16 I bought a civic. I tossed in a loud system in it and competed all over western Canada and in Montana as well for DB Drag racing.Sponsors never panned out so I changed directions and wanted to build fast cars. My brother builds hotrods and told me a import would never be fast EVER so I decided to show his narrow minded brain a thing or 2 by building a Honda that ended up beating his Chevy. The Honda wasn’t fast enough so Ithen got my red convertible and I ran it about a half a second faster than my brother factory. BTW he now drives a SR20 Silvia.

I like to have fun with cars. I now fix up countless Skylines, Silvia’s, Supra’s ect. I like to go back and forth to Japan and Canada building thesecars and helping out the Canadian market and now branching to the American market. I mostly just sell cars but am now doing some parts and engine building with RB26cyl heads and RB30 bottom ends. The car I Just built for myself is a RB30 Cefiro that I will have in Canada this summer. I want to take it to local drift events in Alberta. I like to go to all kinds of shows such as Nopi, Sema, SCC, DTP. I just got back from extreme auto fest in Las Vegas, I had a 4 door R32 RB25 and a RB25 Sileighty there to show off to fellow Nissan lovers. I will take my cars anywhere they are appreciated. Ifound out about Nico just before I got into my red convertible. I searchedfor every Nissan forum using Google and that’s pretty much about how I found out about all the forums I use.

Anyways I hope you enjoy. Means a lot!
