Review: NISMO Motor Mounts

November 15, 2009 by Greg

Wow is all I have to say. These things are definitely worth the money!

My mounts were so worn out that the whole car shook when it started and when you revved it to take off. The shifter moved all over the place at all times.

Installation wasn’t bad at all. Its a straight forward bolt on process and takes around 2 hours for all 3 mounts to be replaced. This included 1 20 minute break and clean up. As far as switching the left and right, i didn’t. I matched the gold capped nismo mount w/ the gold capped OEM mount and installed as they came from the factory. I don’t think they raised the engine up at all actually, but don’t hold me to this. I measured from a hose on top of the engine to the valve cover and got the same measurement after the install! But I’m not 100% sure of this. The tranny mount is very easy to change and takes about 5 minutes.

Now after install, I went for a drive. Just by tugging on the motor, movement is minumum. At startup the engine moves near to none, and my shifter also does not move at startup. It revs quite a bit faster and smoother. Throttle response was also majorly improved. When i floor it, there is no hesitation like before and judging by the butt dyno, i think it pulls harder. As far as the vibration you have heard about, it is nothing to hold you back from purchasing these. I only notice a small amount of vibration at idle, but it isn’t bad at all. After you start going, there is no vibration. The shifts are so much smoother and the drivetrain is so much tighter. The shifter does not move all over the place like it used to. All in all, a HUGE improvement over stock, worn out mounts. You will not be sorry. Order your mounts now!

I ordered mine from performance Nissan on Ebay for 220 shipped. I love my new mounts!
