Get a piece of metal about 14″ long x 12″ wide (you could go smaller some in both directions but we are trying to block radiant heat so…)
now get out a Sharpie, mark 2.5″ in from the end. From that mark, measure another 2.75″ and mark again.
Now take the sheet of metal over to a solid, flat edge. Go to your first mark, bend it 90* on the edge. Now get the second marks lined up and bend it the other way 45*…

I was building my manifold to accept a 2002 WRX internally wastegated turbo, and they didnt have that flange, so I had to make it myself. They threw in some random radius plate and flange for some reason though.

Either way here is a step by step and what is needed to get it done.

Once you have decided that you are up for the challenge, the next question is weather you have a DE or an E motor. Fortunately for the DE crowd there is a good base of knowledge and a very user friendly devise called a Bikirom that comes with everything you need to hook up to a laptop and tune away. There are also a number of tunes floating around for this motor. This devise comes with a daughterboard which is soldered into the ECU. There are a couple of very good write-ups with pictures that cover this procedure…
