Walbro Fuel Pump Install (S14)

December 10, 2009 by Greg

You will probably want to do this install with a tank that is half full, if you do it with a full tank, you’ll have to reach down into the fuel to get the pump out and again to reinstall it. if you do it with an empty tank, the new pump might not prime and the car won’t start until you add more fuel.

Now that thats out of the way, on with the install!!!

Most SOHC owners complain of lifter tick.. or actually, the lash adjusters not working properly CAUSING a tick, but few know that it CAN be repaired as a DIY project.

Vroom-Chirp: Tired of your hard arm rest?

December 10, 2009 by Greg

Here’s how i did it.

1. Get your self some:
– foam of your choice (fabric store)
– vynol / leather / or pleather of your choice ($10.oo per yard at a fabric store)
– Rozor blade
– office stapler, if you choose to do it my way, or another way to make the vynol stay in place while your streatching it.

2. Pull off your arm rest by removing the two screws at the bottom holding the hinge on. and wiggle the arch out carefully.

3. Remove all the screws, including the one hiding under the latch.

akademikONE’s S14 manual seatbelt into S13 install

December 10, 2009 by Greg

I just thought I’d do a quick write-up on how I did my s14 seatbelts to s13 conversion. I hated the automatic seatbelts, so I bought some s14 seatbelts from the classifieds.

Removing the stock seatbelts is pretty straightforward, so I’m not going to post it. I also forgot to take pics during it, that’s why.

DJPantsSpecR’s DIY Adjustable Cam Writeup

December 10, 2009 by Greg

Okay, the purpose of this write up is to provide a free solution to a 150 dollar problem.JWT offers these gears for that price, and while they are useful, few people actually find 150 dollars of horsepower here. However, if you want to use a 248 cam on your intake side, you’re going to be retarding that cam 1.7 degrees. This puts the intake opening event .7 degrees before TDC, which is certainly not helping your top end (which is why you have a 248 in there in the first place). So to correctly install a 248 on the intake side you would have to use a 2.5 degree advance, this would make you only .8 degrees advanced over stock. For this write-up i have taken my goals one step further, and i only redrill the gear for a 5 degree advance.

Guide to Retrofitting TSX Projectors in Silvia Headlights

December 10, 2009 by Greg

hey guys,

so I’ve been searching for some good HID projectors to retro into my Silvia front.those with the Silvia know how poor the output of those lights are. the cut-off is nice but the output seems lacking.if you think they’re pretty good, I guess i just have some high standards for lighting.i haven’t tried re-based bulbs in the Silvia projectors, but if you do that, your cutoff is going the wrong way and you’ll be blinding everyone driving towards you, not cool. “but it will be mad tyte JDM **** yO!”seriously, its lame, don’t do it…
