December 10, 2009 by Greg

QX4: How to modify fog lights to DRLs OVERVIEW: The factory design uses a separate relay for the fog lights. The fog light relay coil circuit is in series with the headlamp circuit with the fog lamp switch being located after the relay. By simply replacing the relay’s headlight power source with another ignition-based power […]

Infiniti J30-Diagnosing a Faulty Fuel Injector

December 10, 2009 by Greg

Removing a fuel injector without removing the plenum isn’t without risk. Grinding of the upper plenum will be involved with the possibility of completely grinding through the plenum wall thus ruining the plenum. The trade off is several hours of labor and many dollars saved by not having to replacing a slew of gaskets and […]

December 10, 2009 by Greg

Without OBD II On G20 models, the ECU is located behind the center console. On J30, M30 and Q45 models, the ECU is located behind the RH kick panel. If a malfunction occurs within the ECU/fuel injection system, a diagnostic trouble code may be stored in the ECU and the ‘‘Check Engine’’ lamp will blink. […]

December 10, 2009 by Greg

VH45DE, the engine code your 240sx wants! Swapping a V8 into a Nissan 240sx may not have seemed feasible in the late 90’s the last 240sx rolled into the U.S. However, times have indeed changed. These days any manner of V8, V6, and inline 6 or 4 cylinder worthy of building up has found its […]

Project Infiniti G35 Supercharger Installation

December 10, 2009 by Greg

Project G35 gets blown away After two years and 65,000 miles of trouble-free motoring in Project G35, the time had come for a much-needed increase in power. While this car sees daily-driver duty, it’s also a great platform for track action. With multiple HPDE and NASA track events under its belt, the G35 has always […]

Part 2 of the Fantasy Test Drive

December 10, 2009 by Greg

By now, a third of the way into the Marathon Test Drive of my spankin’ new ’03 350Z, I had learned a few vital things about the car. First, it attracts attention, so there is a large hubris factor in owning a small orange sports car that nobody can identify. Secondly, on these long, 600-mile […]

240sx2nr95’s Kouki S14 Sideskirts Installation

December 10, 2009 by Greg

First off, if you haven’t done so, clean off all the old adhesive.

Next, sand down and paint your sideskirts, or have them painted.

If they’re already your color, perfect move on to the next step!

After sanding, I used a high quality exterior enamel satin black paint to paint the sideskirts, my mudflaps and my lip.Resists rock chips and well and holds up nicely to the elements (going on 3 years on the lip without needing a repaint.)

S13 Low-Budget Front Lip

December 10, 2009 by Greg

I know this is an old trick but I was so proud of my $15 lip I just had to post it! I put it on the other day and I think it looks pretty good.
Its no PDM lip but it also doesnt make me cringe every time enter a high angle driveway or hit a dip in the freeway at 80 mph.

I paid $10 for a whole 20ft roll (comes in a box) of baseboard molding in the “office supplies dept” of Home Depot.

Then $5 for a box of the wide head autobody screws from AutoZone. The wide head screws dont leave the dimple effect if you refrain from over tightening.
